The finding

Authentication is improving. Hardening remains rare.

Two thirds of the domains observed now enforce DMARC with p=quarantine or p=reject. Yet one in five still has a publicly visible SPF issue or weakness.

The median score is 76.5/100. It describes a public DNS posture, not actual inbox placement.

Methodology

Measure less, but measure accurately

The study uses a purposive sample of 100 ecommerce brands active in France. It measures only the public DNS signals of each brand's website domain.

DKIM is excluded from the score. Reliable verification requires the selector used by the sender or the headers of a real message.

This benchmark is neither an inbox-placement test nor a Gmail or Outlook certification. The marketing sending domain may differ from the website domain.
